Keeping Your Children Safe
Grace Baptist Church takes seriously the safety & security of every child within our ministries. Here's how we protect the children entrusted to us.
Mandatory screening & training
All staff & volunteers working with minors must be Grace members and complete Grace’s Ministry Safety Steps (including an application, references, a background screening, and video training on our Child Protection Policy and Procedures).
Electronic check-in
Ages newborn–5th grade are electronically checked in for all GraceKids activities.
Allergy, medical, & security alerts
Our check-in process gives parents the ability to alert workers to significant allergy, medical, and/or security issues.
Building security
We incorporate electronic security measures throughout our facility to enhance safety. We also have a security team on site during our ministries.
Minimum 2 adults with children
Every classroom will always have at minimum two unrelated adult volunteers present.
Caring Well Team
Grace has a Caring Well Team to oversee and enforce our Child Protection Policy and Procedures.
Sunday Morning Check-In & Check-Out
All children must be checked into GraceKids ministries in accordance with our Child Protection Policy.
Check-In
- 1. Check in at any check-in station located in these areas:
- Preschool Neighborhood (First-time guests, we’d be happy to assist you here!)
- Gym Lobby
- Henderson Hall (3rd Floor)
- 2. Place the printed nametag on your child.
- Allergy, medical, & security alert stickers will be available.
- 3. Keep the printed security tag for check-out.
- 4. Drop off your child at the appropriate classroom.
- Your child must be wearing the printed nametag to enter a classroom.
- Your child must be dropped off by a parent or guardian only.
Check-Out
- 1. Return to your child’s classroom for check-out.
- Your child will remain in the classroom until checked out.
- 2. Show your printed security tag to a ministry volunteer.
- Children will only be released to the individual in possession of the correct security tag.
- It is presumed that a person who is able to provide the check-in sticker code corresponding to the child’s name tag has authority to pick up that child. In the event the parent or legal guardian loses their check-in sticker code, the parent or legal guardian must see the Director of Children’s Ministries (or other Caring Well Team Member) to be verified. The Director of Children’s Ministries must confirm the parent or legal guardian is authorized to pick the child up through the church management system and verify their identity with a valid ID.
Please arrive promptly for check-out to allow volunteers to join their families.
